The RiseCreatives Layer

The RiseCreatives layer was a collaboration project between two members, Michelle O’Connor and Nina Lyons. The layer was developed as a tool to promote members and their work by showing the location of members’ work in galleries, studios and shops around Ireland.

The concept behind the project is to inform potential buyers, followers on Facebook, gallery owners or sources of commissions that members’ work can be viewed in shops, galleries, exhibitions and studios in cities and towns around Ireland as well as online in their portfolio webspace.

The layer features the member’s name and an image of his/her work, the name and location of the shop or gallery as well as directions on how to get there. There is also a link to the member’s portfolio web space.

Any user with a smartphone will be able to use the Layar Augmented Reality Browser on their phone, open the RiseCreatives layer and locate members work within a 10k radius from their current location. The RiseCreatives layer helps to bridge the gap between users viewing members work online to finding the actual work on display in a location nearby. 

Members currently featured in the layer include: - Ger Breslin – Ojee Jewellery, Alison Walsh, Emma Bourke, Cianán Doyle, Emer Duffy, Sinéad Glynn, Lesley Kelly, Vivienne Martin, Nuala McHugh, Sabrina Meyns, Eily O’Connell, Declan Shalvey, Gemma O'Hare and Rowena Sheen.
